After using Airtm for nearly three years and completing hundreds of transactions, I have found Airtm to be reliable and safe to use. This Airtm review will cover everything you need to know about Airtm. I will also show you how to earn money on Airtm.

What is Airtm?
Airtm is a peer-to-peer online payment platform that people can use to keep, transfer and exchange money.
Airtm is a digital dollar wallet; money kept on Airtm is kept as dollars. As a result, most people, particularly Latin Americans, use Airtm to protect their money from rising inflation.
Personally, the main reason why I have been using Airtm isn’t to keep money but to exchange money.
Airtm is an excellent peer-to-peer exchange operating almost in every country with hundreds of payment methods. It has been my go-to place whenever I want to exchange money.
With Airtm, you can transfer money from one country to another or from one e-wallet/bank to another. Assume you have money on PayPal and want it sent to Zelle, Payoneer, or Mobile Money. Airtm can assist you in doing so.
Is Airtm safe?
Airtm is safe to use. It is a legitimate company that allows people to keep, transfer and exchange money. Airtm works in nearly 190 countries enabling people to keep and send money to each other.
I have been actively using Airtm since 2020 and since then neither have I lost money or had any problems with the company.
However, let me address one thing.
Airtm is a peer-to-peer platform, so you may encounter scammers on the platform when exchanging money. But if you follow all instructions, you have nothing to worry about. One way to remain safe is to never confirm a transfer before receiving funds.
Also, always look at the number of transactions done by a peer before exchanging, the higher the number the safer you will be. Be careful of PayPal transactions where the peer has less than five completed transactions and a poor rating. There’s a chance that it may be a scam.
Keep in mind that Airtm is 100% safe, but some peers may try to scam you. So make sure you follow the instructions laid by Airtm.
How does AirtM work?
Airtm works in the following ways;
Keep money
Airtm provides a USD wallet called AirUSD that you can use to keep funds. You can access your money at any time.
Most people living in countries with weak currencies use Airtm to keep and protect their money against inflation. This is important in maintaining the value of your money since a dollar today will still be a dollar even after a year.
Transfer Money
With Airtm you can send money almost anywhere since it operates in more than 190 countries and has more than 400 payment methods.
Here is how Airtm transfers are done.
To Airtm users;
You can easily transfer money to other Airtm users by going to send/request in your Airtm account. You only need their Airtm email or username to complete the transfer. The funds are transferred directly to the recipient’s AirUSD wallet.
To non-Airtm users;
Let’s say you want to send $100 to your mum who is in Mexico from the US. You first need to add $100 to your Airtm account. Then you have to make a withdrawal request, stating how you want your mum to get the funds.
To request a transfer, go to Withdraw and then select the preferred delivery method. Enter the amount and press the continue button. Select withdraw to an account not in your name and enter your mum’s account details. Submit your withdrawal request. Upon submitting the request money will be taken from your Airtm account and kept in an escrow account.
A peer from Mexico on Airtm will accept your request and send $100 to your mother’s local delivery option. When your mother receives the funds, you must confirm in Airtm so that Airtm can transfer the $100 from the escrow account to your peer’s Airtm account and complete the transfer.
Exchange money
Exchanging money on Airtm is not so different from money transfers, here is how it works.
Assume you want to move money from one e-wallet to another or to a bank account. Sending money from PayPal to your Payoneer account, for example. You only need to do two things to complete this exchange.
- Add money to your Airtm account from PayPal.
- Withdraw the added funds to your Payoneer account.
Simply put, this is how money is exchanged on Airtm. I explain how to add and withdraw money from Airtm in detail below.
Airtm account set-up
To use Airtm you need to create and verify an account on Airtm. To do that:
- Go to Airtm by clicking here.
- Start the registration of an account by selecting your country, choosing either personal or business, and then pressing continue.
- Select how you prefer to register & press continue.
- Confirm your email address and fill out your profile information by going to settings.
- After completing your profile information, you must verify your account by submitting a copy of your ID and carrying out the KYC in the verification section of account settings.
- If you do everything correctly, your account will be verified in just about 5 minutes.
Does Airtm require KYC?
Yes, Airtm requires KYC. Keep in mind that the Airtm KYC verification process is simple to do. The entire process doesn’t take more than 5 minutes and can be done using a phone/tablet or a computer. Watch the video above to learn how to do the KYC verification if you have never done it before.
Airtm supported countries
Airtm works almost in every country. You can send and receive money in about 195 countries using Airtm.
Currently, Airtm works in every country except Iran, Sudan, Syria, Cuba, North Korea, Russia, Belarus, and Crimea.
Keep in mind that, in some countries, transactions are almost instant and yet may take hours in other countries depending on the availability of peers and payment methods.
How to add funds to Airtm
There are countless ways to add funds to Airtm and these methods differ from country to country. But the process of adding money to Airtm is the same regardless of the country and payment method you are using.
To add funds to Airtm;
Login to your account and press add.
Select your preferred payment method. There are several payment methods, some of which will display upon pressing add, but you can find your desired payment option by searching for it in the search bar.
Enter the amount and press continue.
Configure your payment method; enter the account details of the account you are going to be using to add funds to your account.
Press the submit request button to continue.
Once a peer accepts your request, you must transfer money using the payment method you stated to the details of your peer’s account you will be given. Let’s say you intend to add $100 from PayPal; you must send $100 from your PayPal account to your peer’s PayPal account.
After sending the money to your peer, you must confirm in Airtm that you have made the transfer.
Your peer confirms once they get the money on their PayPal account and then Airtm moves $100 from your peer’s account to your Airtm account.
And that’s it.
How to withdraw money from Airtm
Withdrawing funds is not so different from adding funds. To withdraw funds from Airtm;
Login into your account and press withdraw.
Select your preferred payout option. There are several payout options, some of which will display upon pressing withdraw, but you can find your desired payout option by searching for it in the search bar.
Enter the amount and press continue.
Configure your payment method; enter the account details of the account you plan to use. Also, select whether the account is in your name or a different name.
Press the submit request button to continue.
Once a peer accepts your request, they will transfer money to the payment method you have given. Let’s say you want to withdraw $100 to your PayPal account; a peer will send $100 from their PayPal account to your PayPal account.
After receiving the money in your PayPal account, you must confirm in Airtm that you have received the funds.
Then Airtm moves the $100 from your Airtm account and sends it to your peer’s Airtm account.
That’s all.
Airtm fees
Transfers via Airtm are free up to $2500 per month. If you transfer more than $2500 in a month, you will be charged 1.25% of the excess amount.

How to make money on Airtm
Airtm offers an opportunity to earn money online to those who would like to work as cashiers on the platform.
Working as an Airtm cashier entails assisting others in depositing and withdrawing funds from their accounts. You earn a percentage of the fees paid by the user you assist in depositing or withdrawing funds.
The amount of money you can make depends on the number of transactions you complete and the amounts involved in those transactions. In addition, some payment methods allow you to earn more money than others.
To work as a cashier on Airtm;
You must have money on your Airtm account and the payment options you intend to use.
If you want to assist people in withdrawing money from Airtm to PayPal, you must have money in your PayPal account. When you accept a withdrawal request from a peer, you simply go to PayPal and send money to your peer’s PayPal account.
For example, the first person on the list below wants to add $130.80 to their Airtm account. So what happens when I accept this request is that Airtm will take $130.80 from my Airtm account and keep it in an escrow account. The peer must then send $146.33 to my PayPal account. Once I receive the funds, I must confirm that I have received the funds and then the transaction is completed.
I would earn approximately $15.53 from this transaction, which is the difference between $146.33 and $130.80. However, after fees, the net income could range from $8 to $10.
Then you just need to wait for another person who wants to withdraw money from Airtm to PayPal so that you can help them complete the transaction and send your money back to Airtm, you will also earn a small commission by doing this.
To make money on Airtm, simply repeat this process. Every time you complete a transaction, you earn money from the difference between the deposit and withdrawal amount.
Airtm referral program
Airtm offers a referral program that enables users to earn money by inviting others.
You will earn $2 for every successful invite and the person invited earns $1.
You will also be earning a small percentage from the fees that your referrals pay.
Airtm benefits and drawbacks
Airtm is an excellent platform for global digital transactions. There are many benefits to using this company, but there are also some drawbacks.

Airtm Review: My Opinion

For the three years I have been using Airtm, it has been extremely useful and reliable and not even one time have I lost money.
The only downside I’ve encountered is that sometimes transactions may take longer than expected.

Airtm to bank transfer
Transferring money from Airtm to your bank account is simple. Simply submit a bank withdrawal request using the steps outlined above for withdrawing from Airtm.
You can also add your bank account details before submitting your withdrawal request.
Once a peer accepts your request you will be able to transfer funds to your bank account.
Airtm to Binance
To send money from Airtm to Binance,
- Login to your Binance account and go to Binance P2P.
- Choose the cryptocurrency you want to buy, preferably USDT.
- Select Airtm as the payment method
- Pick a peer to transact with and fill out your details and then press buy.
- Go to Airtm and send money to your peer’s Airtm account; Your peer’s Airtm account details will be provided in Binance.
- The transaction will be completed once your peer confirms that they have received the money in their Airtm account.
Binance to Airtm

To transfer funds from Airtm to Payoneer, simply submit a Payoneer withdrawal request using the steps outlined above in “How to Withdraw from Airtm.”
